Description

I last imaged this object on 11-24-16 with my Orion 8 Inch Newtonian Astrograph. I decided last

night to try and image this object with my Orion ED80 Refractor. It is probably obvious without

my saying it but all of my images are taken without computerized tracking. My tracking is

accomplished using just the tracking motors for this mount. My goal when I began taking

astro photos was to do this as bare bones as possible to keep the cost down and hopefully keep

the learning curve manageable. Now don't misunderstand me there is nothing wrong with

computerized tracking with super long exposures. Images done that way like I see on this

web site are amazing and beautiful. But that is not what I wanted to do. My process limits what

I can image but luckily there are plenty of objects that my set up and process are capable of

doing justice to.
